An award-winning hotel in Dunfermline known for its luxury weddings, is throwing the doors open to one of its two bridal suites, asking members of the public to completely redesign its interior.

With refurbishment planned to several bedrooms in the four star hotel, owners Pamela and Rui Fernandes thought it would be a novel idea to ask its social media followers how they would like to see one of the bridal suites redecorated.

Pamela said:

“We could easily have just picked an interior design scheme ourselves. We’ve worked with a number of different designers over the years, and certainly know what we like. We refitted our Rosemalen Suite a few years ago, receiving many compliments. It has always been a case of trying to choose decor that is in keeping with the fact that we are a Listed Georgian Building– it’s classic styling for us retaining character features. But with a contemporary twist too.”

Pamela explained that in her facebook post, she said that she and Rui would be even braver in their design choices, and potentially try something a bit different: “We suggested that some people may want to see a Glam & Glitzy theme in the room, or something more muted with a sophisticated palette of neutrals. Another idea was a Downton Abbey 1920’s vibe, which certainly seem to be very popular in bridal trends at the moment.”

“We certainly want to make the room stand out from the crowd, and are open to any suggestions. But we think it’s also important to stress that the room must make bridal couples feel really special when they stay in it,” she said. “I suppose it’s capturing the essence of that, through soft furnishings, accessories, colour scheme, and furniture choice.”

“We can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with, and look forward to announcing what we are going to do very soon,” finished Pamela.
