Giffnock Hotel is on the lookout for real people who deserve some recognition for services to their local community.

The Redhurst Hotel, owned by Manorview Hotels, today launched a search to find real people who have gone above and beyond to serve their community during the pandemic.

From key workers and teachers who have worked tirelessly throughout, to local charity workers who have helped the lonely or vulnerable stay connected. Or perhaps you know a big-hearted person who took on the role of personal shopper for their grandparents or even a friend who made life that little bit more bearable. And the hotel team can’t wait to read your stories.

Commenting on the campaign, Steve Graham, founder of Manorview Hotels said: “To celebrate our re-opening, we’re going to crown one deserving individual ‘Your Redhurst Hero’ and we want to mark the fantastic contributions they have made within their local community.

“The last year has been a challenging and uncertain time for many. However, it has also been a time where a nation came together and supported one another more than ever. This sense of community spirit has inspired us to launch this search, and we hope that you’ll join us by nominating someone you feel is worthy of the accolade.

“The Redhurst is proud to be reopening on the 12 May and we wanted to reinforce our commitment to the area and say thanks to our loyal customers by doing something to make people feel good and shine a light on all of the good things that are happening on the Redhurst’s doorstep.”

Lesley Smith, general manager of the Redhurst added: “I’ve been lucky to work at the Redhurst for more than 30 years and I’ve seen first-hand the community spirit that’s alive and well in this area.  Over the years of working here many of our loyal customers have become friends and it's these relationships that create such a special atmosphere at the hotel.

"We are asking our customers and neighbours to spread the word about the Your Redhurst Hero search and help us find a deserving winner who has made a difference in someone's life.”

The chosen local hero will win a ‘Redhurst Experience’ comprising six prizes to use over a 6-month period, worth over £550 Including, brunch for 4 people in The Bird & Bell, afternoon Tea for 2 with cocktails a  Two Course Dinner for 2, a ‘Host Your Own Roast’ Sunday roast for four people, an overnight stay for two with dinner, drinks and breakfast included and a  table on the Redhurst’s brand new terrace for up to 6 people with a £100 voucher to spend.  Two runners up will also be given a £50 Redhurst gift card each to use as they choose.
