Loch Leven Hotel's owners Craig and Noru Innes have developed a brand new gin for this festive season. This is the first release in Pixel Spirits Artisan Range.

Pixel Spirits was born out of Loch Leven Hotel, in the West Highlands of Scotland near Glencoe.

Speaking about the new gin Craig Innes said:

"Noru and I have long spoken about releasing an Artisan Range of small batch distillates. Distilling products on the scale that we do, allows us the freedom to create unique recipes which we distil for ourselves but also our ever-growing number of Bespoke  Gin clients, including Scottish hotels, bars, restaurants and shops.

"2020 has seen our distillery model change dramatically, as like every business we have had to evolve to survive. Earlier in the year this came in the form of such things as hundreds of litres of hand sanitiser for our local community to the World's First Virtual Gin School Experience and more laterally in the development of our Artisan Range. Spending more time on site this year has allowed us to develop our range which will be launched over the coming weeks and months.

"The Artisan Range are one-off releases, currently sold exclusively from the distillery web shop and Loch Leven Hotel. The first release in this range is our Scottish Christmas Gin. Famed for our Highland Spiced Gin, Devil's Staircase, we thought that an alternative, warming spiced gin featuring festive and seasonal botanicals would be ideal for gin lovers this Christmas! Along the lines of a classic gingerbread recipe, our Christmas gin features, cloves, ginger, cinnamon and orange along with as you would expect a healthy helping of piney and resinous juniper berries.

"Over the past few months, we have distilled (and also Aged) some pretty interesting products for the Artisan Range including a sugar beet Vodka, a white Rum, many Golden Rums featuring different styles of barrels, an oak aged gin and many Gins featuring inspirational Highland botanicals.

"It is a really exciting time at the distillery as we diversify and develop new and innovative products.

Noru Innes continued:

"At Loch Leven Hotel, times are changing. This year has been the most dramatic that any of us in the industry have lived through. Though we are currently in tier one, our doors are temporarily closed as almost all of our guests are unable to visit this month, this has of course been devastating emotionally, it is the first time we have ever closed our doors due to a lack of wonderful guests. At the same time, it has given us a chance to embark upon some dramatic changes and plans for the future so that in 2021 we can embrace and welcome back our amazing team and travellers and offer some new experiences"
