Planning permission for a 175 bedroom hotel on the banks of the River Ness has been given green light by the Highland Council last Wednesday.

Vastint Hospitality is behind the development near Inverness city centre.

The hotel will be at swimming pool site which has been empty since the former Glebe Street Swimming Pool was demolished in 1999.

The Keppie-designed hotel will be operated by the Mariott hotel chain.

We shall post more news on the development as they become available.
