Cringletie House in Peebles Welcomes New Head Chef

Iain Gourlay lives locally and until recently was based at Coltmans Deli and Kichen on the High Street in Peebles, where he had built a reputation for excellence and innovation using local and seasonal produce.

With nearly 20 years of catering experience in the fine dining restaurant at the five star Isle of Eriska Hotel, Spa & Island, the 3AA Rosette Rowhill Grange Hotel and at the 2AA Rosette and Michelin-listed Livingston’s Restaurant in Linlithgow, where he was head chef.

Iain started his new role on 21st June heading up Cringletie’s kitchen. As well as managing the hotel’s team of excellent catering staff and working closely with local suppliers, Iain will be responsible for planning new, seasonally-driven menus and is looking forward to a fresh challenge.

The new Head Chef said, “I am thrilled to be working in such magnificent surroundings and feel inspired by the abundance of vibrant, seasonal produce on offer in Cringletie’s spectacular gardens. The walled garden has its own vegetable patch, which at the moment is bursting with summer life and colour; I can’t wait to see how it changes over the coming months and to devise new and exciting menus.”

General Manager Jeremy Osborne said, "It’s brilliant to have Iain on board and am sure he is going to keep the delicious standards up and enhance them with his own creativity – can’t wait to dine in again soon!"

Iain launches his first menu using produce from Cringletie's estate on the 1st September. Bookings of 4 or more will have the chance to meet Iain who will present the table with a bottle of pink bubbly.
