Guests are invited to walk through a new floral rainbow arch at Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel to join Pride celebrations throughout the month of June.

The hotel are showing their colours, welcoming and celebrating the diversity of every guest with the gorgeous floral display created by local Glasgow florist Rose N’ Thyme and a month of activity raising funds for LGBTQ charities.

From Saturday guests into Kimpton Blythswood Square’s Bo & Birdy restaurant can raise a cocktail in celebration of Pride and the loosening of restrictions in the city. The fabulous strawberry and orange drink has been named Sophie Spritz in memorandum of the late transgender DJ and Producer, the acclaimed Sophie Xeon. The Glasgow-born Grammy nominee had worked with Madonna, Charli XCX and many more. £1 from every cocktail sold will be donated to LGBTQ Youth Scotland.

Later in the month, residents to the hotel will be welcomed by the Kimpton Blythswood Square Pride Champion and F&B Team Member, Sandy McKenzie in drag persona as ‘Marie St. Sandy’ for Drag Social Hour: Pride Picnic in the gardens of Blythswood Square. An opportunity for guests to enjoy a complimentary drink on the house, and to come together on 25 and 26th of June.

Marie St. Sandy said:

“I can’t wait to welcome hotel guests to our first Kimpton Blythswood Square Drag Social Hour at the end of the month. We’ll be spreading the love and laughter, and it will be so nice to see our guests enjoy the hotel and feeling celebrated here.”

Mafalda Albuquerque, General Manager at Kimpton Blythswood Square said:

“At Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel we believe one of our greatest strengths is our diverse workplace. We value every single member of the team and celebrate their unique talents. We wanted to spread some joy this year for the month of Pride and really show our colours with a rainbow welcome. We hope guests will enjoy our floral arch and Sophie cocktail.

We’re delighted to be supporting LGBT Youth Scotland who provide quality youth work to LGBTI young people and work in partnership for LGBTI equality and human rights. We hope to host Drag Social Hour with Marie St. Sandy in the gardens at Blythswood Square and support the charity with our very own Pride Picnic, but if the Glasgow summer weather is typically wet, we’re glad to be able to host guests once again for drinks inside the hotel.”

Drag Social Hour is open to all guests at Kimpton Blythswood Square hotel on the evenings of 25 and 26th of June. A King Superior Room at the hotel starts from £299 in June.
