Scotland’s Greatest Escape, a new BBC Scotland series has recognised Glenapp Castle, a 21-bedroom luxurious PoB Hotel and Relais & Chateaux Hotel, as a shortlisted contender for ‘Best Luxury Escape’ and as one of the best holiday escapes that Scotland has to offer.

The BBC’s panel of industry experts received thousands of nominations for this year’s TV shortlist. Being part of the series is a mark of excellence and the positive experience the team’s contributors had when participating in the show and visiting the various escapes.

The show aired on Wednesday 15th February on the BBC Scotland channel. Episode one was ‘Best Luxury Escape’, featuring Glenapp Castle and the series will now run for a further seven weeks.

Glenapp Castle was acknowledged in the show with the experts stating - ‘’Our industry panel was impressed by its traditional luxurious style. Built in 1870 for one of the Iron Lords of Lanarkshire this place is steeped in high-end history: it’s even rumoured that Winston Churchill and President Eisenhower met here secretly to discuss the D Day landings’’.

In addition to the fascinating history and luxurious style noted by the experts in the show, the Castle is also renowned for offering an abundance of 65 indoor and outdoor activities. Other highlights include its unique Hebridean Sea Safari experience where guests embark upon a seaborn adventure aboard the Glenapp Castle Boat in search of rare marine life and The Endeavour penthouse castle apartment, which is the most opulent in the whole of Scotland.

The Castle is also a leading destination for excellent cuisine, with its fine dining and 3 AA Rosettes. With the introduction of The Azalea, a new unique and magnificent dining venue, the hotel takes their F&B offering to new heights, whilst combining the beauty of Scottish nature with a dining experience.

Following such an esteemed recognition, it is wonderful that Glenapp Castle is becoming renowned as a go-to destination for experiencing Scotland in ways that you wouldn’t find elsewhere.
