The Chester Hotel in Aberdeen took 996 bookings for their outdoor dining experience in the first hour of opening reservations and a total of 1440 bookings in 2 hours.
The hotel's Al Fresco dining experience opens on 8th July, from Wednesday to Sunday until 10pm.
The Chester Hotel made the news last month after unveiling a 20-metre open-sided marquee and transparent igloos as part of their plan for reopening.
Their experience shows that people are not reluctant to book dining and hotel experiences nearby as long as they feel safe and especially if there is a unique attraction to them.
Finding creative ways to attract locals to hotels for unique F&B experiences is key right now. Whatever you decide to do, be extra creative: from themed dinners and picnics to entertainment during dining, guests and diners are looking to experience something new after a long period of time at home.
Be ready to adapt and change your offerings month by month if not week by week, now is the time to be bold, test new alternatives and see how customers respond.
