One of Scotland's most proactive luxury hotels introduces a new concept for al fresco dining in the heart of Fife.

Food in The Woods allows guests and diners to experience al fresco dining from the comfort of the hotel's open ballroom and beautifully decorated gazebos.

The initiative came as an inspired solution to accommodate a much higher demand for dining after lockdown.

Deputy General Manager Sarah Rees said:

"We were overcome with the support from the local community after lockdown and many couldn’t get a table at Balbirnie. Owners Nicholas and Gaynor got their heads together and made our then redundant Ballroom into Food in the Woods, bringing the outside in. We worked with a local florist, Lyn at Poppy Floral Design, to create the food in the woods experience, allowing guests to still dine in gazebos and have the space and confidence to do so".

Nicholas and Gaynor Russell often find inspiration for their ideas in the Scandinavian approach to hospitality, design and lifestyle. The interior decor and atmosphere created for the experience is a reflection of that. Every couple of weeks new dishes are added to Food in the Woods' a la carte menu, this week fondue and a gourmet pizza range have also been included.

For those reading Hotel News Scotland and wishing to enjoy the experience, Balbirnie House is offering a complimentary glass of bubble on arrival if they quote Hotel News Scotland at time booking.

What a delightful result.
