Gleddoch, the prestigious hotel, golf and spa resort, has recently unveiled a major transformation following a multi-million pound refurbishment bringing contemporary flair to the new hotel.

A well-known establishment for many years, Gleddoch was ready for a facelift to bring its traditional style and classic facilities into the 21st Century. Utilising the existing space, including the grand rooms of the original house, the revamped hotel and spa now includes two luxury suites with incredible views overlooking the River Clyde; beautifully-designed, well-equipped and modern junior suites and bedrooms; spacious event rooms with all the necessary mod-cons; and the newly-built Imperia Spa.

The spa provides a range of luxury treatments for face, body, hands and feet, as well as massage and waxing, using products by Elemis and the Scottish brand Ishga, a 100% organic range made from hand harvested Hebridean seaweed . With a separate entrance from the main hotel reception, the Imperia Spa offers a relaxing and tranquil experience that feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Glasgow.

Speaking on the refurbishment, Richard Johal, Director at Gleddoch, said: “Gleddoch has been an old favourite for decades, attracting thousands of guests over the years and is close to many people’s hearts. With its setting in 360 acres of countryside and its amazing views over the Clyde and the Renfrewshire hills, Gleddoch feels like a country retreat, yet it’s only 20 minutes’ drive from Glasgow.

“We saw a great opportunity to breathe new life into the hotel and spa. Former guests will recognise the hotel they loved, but it’s been brought up to scratch and now has all of the amenities expected of a top four-star establishment. The Imperia Spa is a special, welcoming place where guests can feel really comfortable and well looked after. There are ample facilities, yet it’s not overwhelming, and we encourage guests to sit back, relax, and enjoy the facilities. We are looking forward to this new phase of life.”

Over the years, Gleddoch has welcomed many high profile visitors including the Queen and other royalty, some A-list celebrities, and international sports teams.  The newly created Gleddoch will continue to be an attractive luxury option with its range of high-quality facilities, including the jewel in its crown: the Imperia Spa. The spa provides a range of luxury treatments for face, body, hands and feet, as well as massage and waxing, using products by Elemis and the Scottish brand ishga, from the Isle of Lewis.  The spa’s facilities include a 17m, heated indoor swimming pool, eight tranquil treatment rooms, a sauna and steam room, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, a fully equipped gym, and a relaxation room.

Gleddoch also has three superb event spaces, and its location close to Glasgow and the airport makes it an ideal venue for weddings and events. With 75 ensuite bedrooms and event rooms with capacity to host up to 200 guests, it suits a variety of needs and budgets and the team can assist in tailoring the experience for any occasion.

The renowned Championship standard golf course has also had its own facelift, with course improvements, a new golf reception with pro shop and dedicated ‘The Nineteenth’ bar.  A par 72, the 18-hole course will be returned to its heyday over the next few months, with a new, experienced golf manager who has ambitious plans to regenerate the hillside course.
